LLC tax time!

A year ago this month, I decided to launch my voiceover business, and now I’m filing my LLC business taxes for the first time! It was so exciting (and kind of nerve-wracking!) to go through the process, however I’m so fortunate to have my Aunt as a CPA and she helped me through the process. I’m happy to say I’ve filed and everything is good to go! It was interesting to see income vs. expenses (as a new business, you can guess which I had more of, ha!), but I know I’m just starting a business so things take time. I’m excited to see how next year’s process will look compared to this year!

I continue to work on my character voices, narrowing down what I want on my character demo! It’s been coming along and I have another coaching session in the pipeline. I attended another virtual webinar with MediaNEXT’s “Dubbing Academy”, which was with a casting director and I got some insightful information.

I decided on a new set of voiceover classes, and I’m really excited about them. It’s put on by Victoria Atkin (an amazing VO and MOCAP actress) and will consist of 6 consecutive Saturday workshops that will be an hour long. Each week focuses on a genre of VO, with a lineup of great guest instructors. I’m most excited about the performance capture class, as this genre fascinates me and I'm eager to gain some insight on the process and how to gain experience and audition for roles. I’m looking forward to getting a weekly acting “workout” and meet new people in class. And I got a free 2-hour seminar with Victoria included as well!

In other business news, I ordered a car magnet with my business logo and contact info on it, so that will be cool to put on! You never know who might see it and need a voiceover, right?

As always on social media, I’ve been doing fun challenges and making reels and TikToks! I love coming up with clever songs or audio to do VO scenes to.

I hope you have a good week and I’m looking forward to more voiceover auditioning and learning!
